I do not know if my family is related to this family or not, but perhaps someone who has posted here might know. My great-grandfather's name was Clarence Church, he was born 2-20-1885, he married Lela or Leah F. Malone and they had 6 children, but one died as an infant in 1925. The five living children's names were: Eileen, Edward, Franklin (my grandpa), Harold and Darrell Gene Church. They lived in Dana, Indidna, which is in Vermillion County Indiana. My great grandpa worked at the Clinton County Bank in the 1930's, later on I believe he was a postal carrier. They were members of Dana United Methodist Church. My great grandmother Lela died in 1965 and my great grandfather died in 1969. I believe they were very well known in Dana. Harold and Darrell Gene are still living. My grandfather Frank died on March 16th of this year. I believe that my Lela Malone may have been distantly related to the Ernie Pyle family. My aunt Eileen used to give tours of the Ernie Pyle home. Eileen was married to Russell Madden who served in WWII along with my grandfather Frank and his brother Edward. Most of our Church family is buried in Bono, Indiana cemetary. I believe that my great grandfather Clarence may have been born in Missouri or Illinois. I think he also had a brother named Oscar?? My father's name is Larry Church, he has two cousins named Michael and Dana Church. Our family is related to the Church's who owned and operated Church Brother's in Indianapolis back in the 1940's. My grandpa Frank worked there in the 40's. I believe my grandpa had cousins with the last name of Lorraine Agnew and Betty Perkins. The last family reunion for the Church's that I can remember was in 1985 held at Darrell Gene's house in Dana, Indiana. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My name is Charles Gregory Waybright (go by Greg). I am researching my Father In-Laws birth family.
My Father In-law was born Guy Lewis Church. He was adopted by his Mother's brother at a young age
and his name was changed after the untimely death of his parents.
From his information and what I have found I have put the following line from him backwards together.I was told by another researcher that he may be linked to Dr. Benjamin Church of Revolutionary War"fame" but I want to see if anyone can help me in making that connection.
1.) Guy Lewis Church born approx 1933 in Ohio (my father in-law)
2.) Howard Lewis Church born 1908 in Ashtabula Co. Ohio. Died 5/22/1945
3.) Guy Beckwith Church born approx. 1882 in Ohio. Died approx 1947
4.) Willis B. Church born approx. 1851 in Ohio.
5.) Freeman Church born approx. 1821 in Ohio Married to Ellen Paddock. Died 3/21/1821 in Clark County Ohio.
6.) Ephraem G. Church born approx 1797 maybe in England maybe in Ohio (I have info that shows both). Married Mary "Polly" Owens in 1816 in Richland County Ohio. Died 9/20/1836 in Richland County Ohio.
7.) William Church born approx 1768 may in America. Spouse unknown. **** Found some research that seemed to indicate he may have lived in New York and fought in the War of 1812 prior to coming to Ohio??? May have got land in Ohio from his service??? That is just guessing on my part however.
8.) Benjamin Church born approx 1719 in England (thinking birth year is incorrect based on birth year of son William. Thinking this may be Dr. Benjamin Church born not in England
but in Rhode Island in 1734).
Another researcher found an Obit of Enos P (Pollard) Church who was a son of Ephraem G. Church (number 6 above) at Depaul University. In the Obit of Enos is states that he was a direct decendent of General Benjamin Church of the Revolutionary War.
If anyone can confirm this or give ma a direction to go in research please let me know at
cwaybrig@yahoo.com.
I have confirmed Back to Ephraem G. Church in the 1820 US Census but find several Williams in 1790, 1800, 1810. Am thinking if it is William it may be the one I find in Little Compton, Kent, Rhode Island in 1790, 1800, 1810 Census based on other info I have found but just reaching on that one (may have lived in New York_. In 1820 Census I find William and Ephraem in Richland Couny, Madison Township Ohio.

HI,
I'm starting to assemble my little part of the Church Family Tree and was wondering if anyone had info on the clan from out west. My Grandfather was also named Vernon Church (born 1889) and was born in Nebraska. My father, Duane Church, was born in South Dakota in 1924 and moved to Virginia when he was a young child. My Grandfather often spoke of an Aunt Jessie from out west. I know ths isn;t much to go on, but I;d appreciate any leads you could offer.
Regards,
-Vernon

I am the son of Louie Marion Church, who was the son of John Wesley Church, who was the son of Asa Martin Church. For reasons unknown to me, my middle name seems to have a acquired what appears to be a misplaced "t." Out of curiosity, I visited this site and became very interested in it. I shall return. Well done all involved. Who knows? Perhaps I am in some way connected to a name referenced within the site. Fair winds and following seas to all Churches.

Greetings all
While this CHURCH family may not be related to the CHURCH family on this site, I am trying to touch all bases with my query.
I am trying to find any info about a Philip Church who settled in Allegany County, NY..perhaps in the very late 1700s. He bought a large tract of land and started a sawmill, erecting a temporary residence called BELVIDERE. Philip married an Anna Stewart and they had two (2) children...Richard and John. Richard married ? and had two (2) children...Angelica and Mary Helen.
Would like to communicate with anyone with any information on this line.
Many thanks and if desired, can write me directly at joemac1938@aol.com
