HI i was told about this website from a cuz of mine that i came cross on Ancestry .com so i think to stop and say hi to you all
I was so glad to see your web site and blog. I am a direct decendent of "Yankee" John Church who came to NC c.1750. He had several sons and there is a large contingent of us in NW North Carolina. "Yankee" John is Patriot of the American Revolution as is his son Amos who served with the Overmountain Men at Kings Mountain. There has been much research of the Church family in NC and it has been determined that we are decendents of Richard Church who arrived in 1636. We are very proud of the Church name since it is fairly uncommon in most parts of the US. There are some cousins who went to Canada many decades ago and they come to Ashe County, NC for the reunion of the Southern Church family. You folks are also welcome to come and bring your genealogy info.
When my daughter married she opted to keep her maiden name hyphenated with her married name as did her oldest child. We are a proud Church family.
I'm new to geneaology, but got a tip to check out this website from a distant relative I found through Ancestry.com.
I'm the great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson of John and Hannah Church (John > Nathaniel > Peter > Eliphalet > Schuyler > Henry > Lewis > Howard > my mother).
I've just begun delving into this site, but I think it is incredible, and thank you greatly for putting it together. It's simply wonderful.
